About Ptolemy Services

The partners in Ptolemy Services are graduates with over 35 years combined experience of programming, electronics and publication skills. This includes nearly 20 years combined experience of developing noise monitoring and analysis software for diverse platforms - ranging from the Epson HX-20 portable, through MS-DOS and Windows 3.1, to (currently) Windows 9x, Windows NT4/2000 and other Win32 platforms.

This extensive experience has meant that Ptolemy Services can produce code in a wide range of computer languages, including C, C++, Java and, where speed is essential, Assembler.

An integrated approach

Ptolemy Services provides a comprehensive service covering all areas of software development and technical authoring. Our experience in programming, publications and electronics means that we can also provide services in 'gray areas', such as the gap between software and electronics, or between programming user interfaces and writing on-line documentation.

Our location

Ptolemy Services is based in Winchester, the historic capital of England in the county of Hampshire, easily reached in just over an hour from London.

We have considerable experience of working with overseas contacts and welcome inquiries from outside the United Kingdom.
